Welcome to the group.
Looks like you have the makings of a real nice car. The fender looks like it could be salvaged, but you should also be able to find one at your local u-pull-it wrecking yard. The header panel is available from Performance Products and probably Pelican. Check their web sites.
You need to get a Haynes manual at the very least, and keep your eyes open for a set of work shop manuals. These are hard to come by.
If the car has been sitting for a long time, you should really think hard about doing the belts and seals on the engine. This engine is an interference engine, and if the belts break it is big bucks particular if you can't do the work yourself.
I don't know if there is a group like the Kansas City Wrenching Society or the "Omaha Crew". in the Southern California area, but you need to fine someone close that has done some of the things you are going to want to do to your car. Getting together with them will keep the cost within reason.
