hey guys!
ive been poking around the internet about my new toy and find that this is the place to be! so i just got a 1987 924S that clearly needs work- on both the body and engine. I got if from a lady who crashed it 5 years ago and just parked it in the garage because quotes to fix it were too much... anyways- she looks good and im excited to get her running and on the road and then slowly do the body work... hers some pics:

so do you guys know of anywhere that i can get a replacement fender?
i saw gt-racing and a couple otherplaces have wide body ones but then i am stuck buying a whole new bumper and fenders and wouldnt i look silly with a wide front and narrow rear? i would love to find maybe some fiberglass or carbon standard fenders if anybody knows a place or even just a cheaper place than gt-racing.

any other suggestions welcome- im just 19 and looking to learn a lot hopefully not spend a lot(even tho i probably will) and end up with a nice toy

thanks guys!

Welcome to the group.

Looks like you have the makings of a real nice car. The fender looks like it could be salvaged, but you should also be able to find one at your local u-pull-it wrecking yard. The header panel is available from Performance Products and probably Pelican. Check their web sites.

You need to get a Haynes manual at the very least, and keep your eyes open for a set of work shop manuals. These are hard to come by.

If the car has been sitting for a long time, you should really think hard about doing the belts and seals on the engine. This engine is an interference engine, and if the belts break it is big bucks particular if you can't do the work yourself.

I don't know if there is a group like the Kansas City Wrenching Society or the "Omaha Crew". in the Southern California area, but you need to fine someone close that has done some of the things you are going to want to do to your car. Getting together with them will keep the cost within reason.

Good luck with your car, and don't be afraid to ask dumb questions, that how we all learn.
