Hi all,

I will be at TIPEC's Elvaston Castle event and as the MOT has failed, I'm offering the car at the bargain price of £500 as she stands.. I estimate that the car will be about 4 or 5 hours labour to pass the MOT as she only failed on:

Parking brake has no reserve travel,
Brake pedal has insufficient reserve movement,
Parking brake efficiency below requirments
Brakes imbalanced
Windscreen washer provides insufficient washer level

A good stripdown of the rear drums, possibly a stripdown of the front calipers will cure the imbalance & efficiency of the brakes, and possibly just a handbrake adjustment will put her through. She only failed on Tuesday and I haven't really driven her since. The MOT fail and retest will be included in the price.

I have just moved house and have nowhere to park her or repair her or I would keep her. Otherwise I'd have to book her in for someone else to do the work, quoted as approx £160 labour if you want someone else to fix her.

07812 158 349 if you want to take a look or see me at the show.

EDIT:

Chris and Tux, if you're going to the show make sure you introduce yourselves, I'll be the one next to the car with the for sale sign!

anyone else, yes I'd like to keep the car, but Sunday will be the test of whether I do or not, if I do keep her I really have big parking problems!

Hi

Been very busy of late. Bad to hear about your brakes; I had a similar problem and just getting in the drums and having a bit of service there helped a lot.

Not making it to Elvaston. My last weekend before I start work and my girlfriend's first weekend of holiday (a total arse) so we're spending it together and she doesn't want to see more than one Porsche...

If you get stuck about where to keep your car, I have a Nottingham Uni carpark at the back of my house which I have kept both the 924 and 944 in for extended lengths of time and they've never been touched. You are welcome to leave it there if you need to.

Chris

you're in my phone now! - sorry I didn't get in touch about the 924 soundFX, but I went with the original. As you can hear tonight on East Midlands Today!

18:30 BBC1 East Midlands for anyone else, the 924 only plays a small part, but at least it plays a part! - if you have sky elsewhere in Europe you may be able to tune in - look for BBC regional channels, I think its channel 980 or thereabouts.

I was hoping to be able to come down, but my car's not ready yet (shows you what an MOT's worth!). Hope you find parking or if not get decent money for your car.
