I think the base model had a version of our beloved 2 liter motor....

Hey that rear end looks like my 928. Actually a grain of truth may be that AMC was visiting the Porsche and Audi plants when the 928 body was being designed in 72-73.

I used to own a 928S, and believe me, the fact that the design was inspired by the Pacer had no influence on the amount of enjoyment I was able to wring out of that car! _________________ Josh, CPN

Just had another look at the Projeck 928 document/pictures and the early versions of the 928 rearend looked more like the Datsun 260Z.
