Sorry for two posts in one day, but I have another question about my temp gauge ... As soon as I turn my key into the "on" position (motor not running) my temp gauge slams to the top (it bounces). Now, my first thought was to just replace the sending unit, but of course, it's jammed between the firewall and the back of the head as near as I can tell. Is there a way to get to this without taking out my motor, and if not, can I put a sending unit somewhere else if I put a hole somewhere else in the system?

If the wire is shorted anywhere from the sender to the gauge, it will read hot. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"
