FYI: I'm offering this tidbit to save others the frustration I've just been through. Several weeks ago I posted a situation on an 82 931 restoration I'm doing. When I would turn on the pump, the injectors would spray even before the air flow sensor was depressed. One of the suggestions made was that the fuel distributor diaphragm was leaking.
Well, I finally found a small reference to this issue in the tech manual. Its related to the C/O mixture screw. All one has to do is turn the screw counterclockwise to lean the mixture and the spraying stops. In fact, the tech manual mentions adjustment after working on the air flow meter.
You turn the screw clockwise until the injectors just start to spray (the pump is on of course). Then back the screw off, counter clockwise 1/2 turn.
So, if you encounter this problem, look to the C/O screw adjustment first. Don't replace the distributor quite yet. |

Not soon but definitely. Now that I've got it running I've got to replace seat upholstry and clean it up. Paint job and window to follow.
By the way, got a good source for seat covers? |
