Hi everyone!
I dont know if you all can remember but I changed the clutch in my '87 924s a few months back. Car has been running great (besides the CV bolt scare I had), but there has been a new noise since the work has been done. Basically, any time the car is strained in RPM change/acceleration(such as dumping into the next gear or downshifting, and ESPECIALLY peeling out). Basically what happens is the car makes a creaking sound in the rear, almost like something is adjusting/straining. I can almost feel it from behind. And it seems to coinside with the struts lowering in the back to the downforce in the rear of the car. And when I peal out, this sound happens constantly about 4 - 6 times a second until traction is regained. Someone told me it could be wheel hop but i dont think so as I also hear the sound occasionaly when im driving normally. Any ideas as to what this is? _________________ There are 10 people in the world, those who understand binary and those who dont.

Transaxle mounts loose or broken? Perhaps they were not torqued properly? _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

Could just be rear shocks and/or suspension bushings. Can you hear the sound when the car is parked and you bounce the rear? _________________ '88 944 Auto - may or may not resurrect |
