Just a point of interest about the headlights.
The ROW car 7" round headlights are not a cheap pick up anywhere replacement.
Apparently they made some changes and for some reason removed the retaining ring and incorporated it into the headlight itself.
Now I have a set of headlights to sell. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

Damn! One of mine is broken (smallish hole in the glass, but the light is still working) & I was hoping to get "a cheap pick up anywhere replacement".
Looking at the PET PDF file, section 905 (headlamps), are you saying part number 477 941 046 (retaining frame) is part of what PET calls the headlamp (part number 477 941 773 I think, which has a remark of "/RL" next to it, which I believe means "right-hand drive")? Got any pics of it?
I'll have to check mine out one of these days & see if it the same. _________________ TJ

There is a different headlight for the us/cdn cars where the light has a ring holding it to a frame.
The ROW cars have the ring as part of the light _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

TJ - If I was you, I'd try and get a similar headlamp from a scrap Golf, say, for a few dollars, offer it up and just see if it fits or not.
If it does you're quids in (dollars in your case), if not you'll be able to see what's different. It may be that you can adapt the frame in some way. In any case you won't have lost much and you'll have learned from the experience... _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

Its shown on illustration 905-00 and 905-05 in PET
I just bought 7" lights with the crystal lens and had to resell them as they were not gonna fit as there was no fixing points. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

Probably be a smart move to get US type ring and frame. Then a standard pair would fit instead of having to go genuine. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

When I got new headlights, they were in stock at Checker Auto Parts. The guy behind the counter said that they were the same headlights as Jeeps. Don't know if that helps? _________________ '79 924 now Totaled! Carrera GT bodywork for sale!

Hmmm. I can only find illustration 905-00 in PET, not 905-05. I can't find either of the part numbers in either the PET PDF that is referenced on the forum or the CD-based PET program.
The only part numbers I can find for Headlamps 477 941 771 B (with nothing under "remark") & 477 941 773 (with /RL under remark). _________________ TJ

There must be at least one more part number for 924 headlamps, because at some point they changed from sealed beams to halogens.
Maybe it's time for a conversion, TJ. _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

I thinks I'll be converting to the US style when the time comes.
You'll need the frame and retaining ring.
How about getting someone to send these to you who has done the fixed light conversion?
You can get the lights here. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

Mine are already halogen. That could be the diffrerence between headlamp part number 477 941 771 B & 477 941 773 in PET illustration 905-00. It also lists a halogen bulb (H4) as 999 631 202 90 (& 91) _________________ TJ
