Working my way through some of the smaller bits on my way to a belt replacement... I think (pray?) that I fixed the PS fluid leaks - replacing the belt clamps at the reservoir seemed to hold it, at least for the immediate - I see now that the PS pump is VERY unhappy! Makes all kinds of death-rattle noises when being turned; evidently it's been run dry for a while.

Swapped messages w/ Travis at Rennbay, he says just go with the re-seal kit, since there's not any proper bearings per se in there... if there's substantial damage, we'll find out once we get in there and open it up, but it basically just rides on liquid bearings (the actual PS fluid) and the nasty noise may be just the thing sucking air past the seals.

I guess we'll find out - I'm going to order the kit!!

if it is toast let me know as it is the same as the 928 and I should have at least 1 spare kicking around.

Advance Auto has rebuilt ones (lifetime warranty) for $108. I bought one there years ago...

Thanks; after chatting w/ Travis at Rennbay, he assured me that the pump should be fine, just sucking air - so I'm now rebuilding it with one of his reseal kits ($20).
