I was wondering if any of you know what a cherrybomb glasspack sounds like. I've been looking for a new muffler for my car cause mine sounds
awful but I don't want a ricer exhaust. Do they sound good or do they just make the car louder? Also, do they make that annoying popping sound?
My car right now sounds terrible but I don't want to spend a lot of money
on a muffler cause I have to get new shocks all around. |

Most people I know(not with 924's but other smaller displacement engines), replace the catalytic converter with a glass pack, because it keeps the rasp to a minimum.
I would just get something like a Summit turbo($15) or cheaper 30-50$ muffler and cut the cat out, and put a glass pack in there.. _________________ [This Space For Rent]

I think all performance exhausts make some popping sounds. _________________ 78 924 sold.

Thanks, I think I'll go with the cherrybomb. They're only $30 bucks Candian
right now at Candian Tire which is about as cheap as it'll get I think. |

I had dual Cherry Bombs on my 924 and it sounded like a lawm mower or an outboard motor.
took them off for me they were too loud without a cat. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

Hmm, guess I won't buy one. I think I'll just wait and buy a Borla or something.
Thanks for saving me those 30 bucks. |

Hmmm, I was wondering about this too. What does everyone else use? I thought about a Flowmster of Magnaflow, but wasn't sure if they'd sound ricey or dumb, plus they're not super cheap. Cheaper than a nice Remus, but hey, so is my car.
Flosho, does the glass pack instead of a cat sound alright with a decent muffler on it? I don't know. I don't want it to be way loud, but I like a nice throaty (dare I say exotic?) sound.
Sorry for the hi-jack. _________________ Gone: 1981 silver 924 w/ black int. and a 5 speed. |

Mmmm. Good sounds. My buddy has an older 5.0 LX Mustang with Flowmaster duals. It sounds really good. Before I got my exhaust fixed, mine was way louder.
I was doing some research on the Remus mufflers before, and I heard a clip of the 1.8t Golf with a remus system and the sound was... symphonic. Beautiful, and not just for a four banger either, but I just can't stand $300 for just a universal muffler with tips. _________________ Gone: 1981 silver 924 w/ black int. and a 5 speed. |

Holy F%@$!!!
I looked on ebay and they got a Remus for $200 US. Used!
Jesus Christ. I don't really know alot about what mufflers are good but I'm
guessing that Remus are the best? I've heard about them before, but on their
site they only got a few soundclips and I wouldn't pay $300 for that.
I would really like something that had either a high pitch sound like
an exotic, or a deep rumble that'll set off every car alarm. Whatever I get, it
can't sound any worse than what I have now. It's just a normal muffler
that doesn't have a distinctive sound at all.
I think I'm gonna go to a muffler shop and ask them what they would recommend for a 4 cylinder.
What would it sound like if I replaced the primary muffler with a cherrybomb and left
it at that? |

yeah I had just one cherry bomb turbo without a cat or resonator and it was pretty loud but not too much popping. You can hear the car from across the street. _________________ 78 924 sold.

My cats going bad, and i think i'll put a glass pack on. If it sound a little lound, then i think a 30-50 dollar glasspack is a lot cheaper than a 100-150 dollar cat. Glad someone thought of it. _________________ What i own:
