hi everyone i'm new to the forum...i recently just recieved a free 924 from my god father...after three years of asking him if i could take it off this hands to put it back to shape he finally realized he didn't have time for it and gave it to me...it's not in great shape since it's been sitting for the past 5 years or so and i mean outside in the yard not in a garage...as for the interior it's totaly just sick everything had mold all the way through it and it stank...here is a pick of the car...wut do you guys think is it worth bringing it back to life??

You feel that sharp pain in your pocket? That's your wallet screaming "NOOOO!"
Looks expensive. But doable...

Have you got all the parts? i.e. was the car complete? That might make it a little less painful.
But seriously, that looks like one big, expensive headache. The kind that lasts for years...
You up for it?
You'll probably be able to get all the parts you need through the Cars and Parts Wanted/For Sale forum. I'm assuming you're in the U.S. but just transporting some of the bigger items (like a whole interior) can be expensive in itself.
If you are in the U.S. and you've got your heart set on a 924, it might be a better option just to buy a half-decent one. They're relatively cheap over there.
Still, if you're a sucker for punishment, it's probably not a bad project car. They're relatively simple and inexpensive... for a Porsche _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Looks like a fair chunk of the induction tract is missing. Do you have these parts? Like Khal says, the more complete the car is the less of a headache it's going to be.
If you take it on, at least you'll have an interesting year ahead of you! _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

That wont be that bad. It looks like its just a lot of finishing all the half-started jobs on it, heck you could pull the head right now looks like. Just make sure you have everything. _________________ 1977.5 924 "Martini" head / New Old Stock rebuild

cool, you'll probably find there's far less work to do than you realise, but then you'll start to find the regular running probs that go away (we hope) once you start running the car regularly, find them & fix them and then keep a small stock of spares in the glovebox...
Enjoy, look forward to seeing your progress, keep posting the pics! _________________ 1998 BMW Z3 2.8 arctic silver & red
