| 90% threads on this forum are questions "would ..... engine fit". Wouldn't it be better to have a new forum with sucess stories ? I browsed through the forum and I have seen 5 or 6 successful engine transplants... |

I think the original cut out dimensions were sponsored by Makita and Stella Artois as its about twice as large as it needs to be.
The GTI-R bulge is there to give me a fighting chance at getting it through an MOT and I'll probably get another bonnet for a re-fit in the fullness of time.
This car needs to be driven!
My remaining jobs and concerns in order are
Wiring, Battery is in the boot, many bits of Rover wiring are just taped into the Porsche loom. Going to re-make the engine wiring using Kit-Car type universal multiplugs.
Brakes, remote servo fitted but with single circuit and bias valve. Thats not staying.
Fuel lines, Theres a fuel leak after running. I suspect "Fingertight Fred" has left a few loose fittings.
Seats, would be nice to have two seats.
But who can tell what other jobs I will uncover on the way

Your rocker cover fill neck can be removed, it's the same thread as the orange cap, so you lower the filler, then you need to trim the excess off the orange cap at the bottom where there is 3/4 inch flange lower than the thread. While your at it, if you remove the plastic your left with an aluminium cap that can be polished _________________ 924 zero cylinder race car, |
