Ok here it goes. I'm new here. I'm a mechanic by trade on tractors and small equipment and have a good general knowledge of mechanical things and electronics to a certan degree. I bought this 1987 924s a couple months ago and have revived and saved this wonderfull car from certain death. Did the timing belt, balance belt, and water pump right away.(almost lost engine driving it home because the water pump was shot) New plugs, cap, rotor. ect. ect. I drive 90 miles a day to work 5 days a week. Car has run pretty good for the most part. But I've noticed a putter at idle. And its only at idle. Just recently i stopped to get gas and it didnt start when I went to leave the station. Just turned over and over. It hiccuped once then just turned over and over again. I opened the hood and wiggled a few connections. After a few minutes it just decided to run. I went to work. It happened again today. I opened the hood and started grabbing things like the coil wires and spark plug wires. wiggled the wires going to the air flow sensor and crank sensor. when I went back to start it it started right up. I touched so many things i dont know what it was. Is there a common (bad connection) thing I should be looking for? just a thought to ask on here if there is a common connection problem I can look for. Any and all of your input will be looked into since this is my primary driver and would like it to be reliable(which i dont feel it is right now). Thanks.
