So, my North American cousins, what's a good news service up there?

Figure I should start reading about current events, lest I turn up there sounding like a complete dill...

Down here we've got a national news service, the ABC. Also a national newspaper (also online), The Australian. Anything similar in Canada?

How about local Vancouver news?

OK, I got CBC.ca, that's the same thing as our ABC, right?

Ya it is. I forgot to tell you about CBC. And I was kidding about "The Canadian" in case you looked it up.
Sorry

Also, don't believe anything the Albertans tell you, they're like our Texans.

Best national paper IMO is "The Globe and Mail". National Post is good if you're a right winger I guess.

CBC is the government run broadcasting agency. They do many TV channels, many radio stations.

For Vancouver news, you can't beat the Vancouver Sun and the Province. They've pretty much got you covered.

Apparently they're both part of the same online news agency.

So when are you coming this way, and do you have a toofah lined up yet?

Within about six weeks, hopefully.

Not yet. But I reckon I'll get one.

Wow, your National Broadcaster is crap, eh? They don't even podcast the news!

You can get just about everything as a podcast from the ABC.

Except that we'd never let an Albertan run the country.

BC is like the California of Canada, in that this is where people come to retire, this is where the film industry is, and all of the left leaning liberal hippy types.

Khal, let me know when you're wanting one and I bet I can round you up a dozen

yeah but I'd rather live in California. The weather sucks here in BC, it rains all the time. Last summer I remember it was raining for like half the summer.

I'll probably change my mind once I move to another province..... I will most likely move to Saskatchewan, Alberta or the east coast for school in maybe a year.
