So a strange thing happened today, the first in years, crap.
My car was hot (operating temp) and because the cooling fan was on when I used the power windows it blew the fuse. So while I was wondering why the window wouldn't go up (under dash checking fuse) my buddy told me that there was mucho smoke coming out the tail pipe.I check the dash and sure enough she's in the upper 3/4 of the temp gauge.
I turned on the aux rad fan, thankfully on a dedicated line, and drove home.No smoke once cool.However.After I cooled the engine alittle and restarted it the smoke out the tailpipe started again.Could this just be that the oil is getting too hot/thin and leaking into the compressor side ?

What colour was the smoke?

Oil smoke has a distinct bluish tinge, and a distictive smell. Do you you get more smoke if you rev it, if not it's probably not oil blowing past the pistons.

Presumably your timing and fuel mixture are spot on?

It was oil smoke alright, you could smell that.I just took her for a ride and then stopped with the engine running to get it good and hot and the smoke didn't come back.It was definitely oil from the turbo that caused it because you could see it in the intake runner.Lots of it.
My guess as to what happened yesterday is that because the car was idleing low there wasn't enough oil pressure to keep the turbo cool, which in turn thinned the oil enough t o get by the oil seals. Then the window/rad fan fuse blew (still need to trace those wires) and she heated even more.More oil in the intake.Bottom lline is that I need to get a new turbo on the car.One that's water cooled and has 360 degree oil seals.
