hi.... i just finished doing a compression test on my 924S. The car has a 2.7 M44/11 engine installed and is untested. I have just recieved the correct ecu and afm but thought it better to test the compression first. the results are as follows .... cylinders 1 and 4 read approx. 232 and cylinders 2 and 3 read approx. 262. i squirted a drop of oil into each cylinder and held the throttle open. as these results were a "wet" test i am not that worried about the high results, but i am worried about the uneven figures. Is it safe to rule out valve damage with such high figures? The dry test was similar albeit 2 bar lower across all 4 cylinders. Anyone got any idea or suggestions about what could be giving me these compression figures?

| Well i installed the engine about a year ago, thats as far as i got with it. The guy i bought the engine from said he smashed the car up 6 months before i bought the engine , so i would guess at least 18 months.but i cant be sure. The fuel that i found in the rail didnt seem too stale..... |

I wouldn't worry about the compression results since the rings may be sticking a little.
I doubt you have any issues with the valves. If you want to make sure, do a blowdown test. (Bring each cylinder up to TDC one at a time and pump about 100 PSI in using an air line and listen for leaks at the muffler and air cleaner.) _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"
