Hi Folks,
The oil pressure on my standard 1984 924 has just dropped to a little over two bar at 3000 RPM. I was previously getting about one bar per thousand rpm. I'm assuming the usual suspects of oil pressure sender, oil pick up in the sump and oil pump. The car has covered a little over 140k and is not burning any significant amounts of oil. Could any of you give advice please ?

Thank you very much

Bad oil filter, broken or cracked oil supply tube plastic elbow on the cylinder head, or defective oil pressure sender or wiring.

Does the oil pressure indicator move as the intensity of the dash lights dimmer switch is varied when headlights are on?

Hi There,
Thanks for the ideas i'll go and check. The needle appeared to be showing a good pressure on start up and then flickerd and went down to two bar. I'll have a look at all the things you've suggested and get back.!

Also check the pressure relief valve (located on the oil pump).
