My car runs beautifully - recently 210 kms/h in my returning trip from the winery´s rally - but being an speed and power freak - as I am - I feel a strong urge to upgrade.
My first choice was a 951 but I lost a nice one and there are none for sale now.
Same for 931, very rare and not so well kept up here

The official importer has a very nice 1990 964 C4 in grey and my savings are very close to the selling price

In the Porsche Festival last year the winner in the 964 category did a best lap of 2 minutes 21 seconds, my best lap winning the 924 category was 2 minutes 44 seconds (totally standard european 924 N/A)

I want to beat their a....in the 2006 event !!!!

Do it in the TooFah. You'll turn more heads that way.

Don't listen to 'em, mate... buy that 911!

I drove an '87-ish 3.0-litre Carrera once. Felt like sitting in a VW Beetle but WOW, the performance!

The sound of that boxer engine at full tilt makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up!

If you have funds to buy that 964, go ahead. Though C2 would be a bit better choice with just "mere" 250hp of that 3.6 litre engine

Khal, all 3.0 ones were SC's, Carrera's started with 3.2 and that is a helluva performer: less than 6 seconds 'til 100kph with only 231hp!

Have driven them and yes, I'll buy one day too, but only as a second (or third?) Porsche in my garage My first Porsche is and will be toofah

Oops, you're probably right. I do vaguely recall that it had "SC" on the back and not "Carrera".

Anyways, damn thing went like a scalded cat!

And the sound! I've never heard anything like it!

No it isn't
But, Estonia is so small, that I bet most (if not all) Australian provinces are bigger. Estonia's area is just tad over 45 000 km2 and population...... 1.3+ million people

IIRC the whole USA (maybe even north america) would fit into Australia and we only have 7 states. (The ACT is inside New South Wales)
This makes them pretty big.

weird question, I've never driven a 911, just wondering wouldn't the 911s have pretty bad handling if the engine is in the rear with no weight in the front? like a backwards front wheel drive car.

and yeah Porsche is my favourite car, 911 looks like an awsome car I want to own one, one day.... Problem with 911 is that they have such a high status as the ultimate sports car, the resale value stays so high, lots of money for a car, I bet it's worth it though.....

Nope. The U.S. is much bigger in land area than Australia... and that's only the mainland. Not counting Alaska and others.

On a side note, apparently the entire U.K. will fit into Queensland alone six-and-a-bit times...

I've only driven one and only for a short time. I can assure you they don't handle badly, though. The words "go-kart" come to mind...

The earlier 911's were criticised for "lift-off oversteer" i.e. turn into a corner and lift the throttle and she'll suddenly swap ends. But from the late '80's onwards I think they had that pretty well cured.

Look at their racing record and tell me they don't handle well. A car that weird-lookin' with a small engine at the wrong end doesn't become a world-wide legendary sports car because it handles badly...

Your right Khal.
Without Alaska the USA is still approx 1/2 million square kilometers bigger.
Still when you are talking 7.6mill to 8.1 mill they are both pretty big.
