I have fitted a different dump valve now, the bailey was good but it took too long to release the pressure, so i got a turbo xs replica from ebay which one of my mates has on his evo 4. It releases the pressure much more quickly.

Sandy,

It just hissed for longer than i thought it should, the type i am using is a turbo xs RFL replica, just type "turbo xs" into ebay, they are 39 buy it now. Seems to work better on my car anyway. The bailey dv36 is probably the best of the lot also known as the venturi, as it is a trumpet style twin piston one. I will probably get one of those in the long term.

Sandy,
Looking at your pic, it seems the valve vacuum line is connected on the turbo side of the throttle body?? Say it aint so
Am i right in thinking this needs a vac line on a closed throttle to assist in it's operation??

It goes to a take off on the inlet side of the throttle body. The dump valve will not work unless it is plumbed in like this. You need the negative vacuum pressure to help open the dump valve when the throttle body shuts. Jus tuse the same take off as you boost gauge. I know i said to get a dv36 but I have thought about it and i am so happy with this turbo xs one that I am sticking with it.

We are using the same dump valve on the 924 SC kits, and yes it is quite a wonderful sound.
I just wish we could get them as cheap here as you guys in the UK. _________________ Sid

The RFL stands for Really F***ing Loud and It is very loud. It is a very sharp harsh release of pressure. I will try and make a video with sound when i get the chance to borrow a camera. But you should definately get one, especially when they are so cheap. It is apparently from the same factory as the real turbo xs one but it is not polished and it doesnt have the badge, but it is really good quality.
cheers

I think you will like it, just make sure you have it with no spacers inside. Just the spring. It should come like this anyway. What boost are you running? Mine is only running 0.8 bar and it makes a good hiss. Yours will probably be even better as you have the s1 turbo. Good luck with it. If you dont like it then there will be plently of boy racers that will buy it off you
cheers

Sandy
There are no adverse effects of running this one? I was under the impression that we would be puffing black smoke on harder shifts? _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

| There appear to be no adverse affects on my one. There are maybe small puffs of smoke that I cannot see but there are definately no big puffs. |
