Im going to make a speaker box that covers where the old rear seat where. it'll from the back slant up to a little past where to old rear seats back rest was. and will slant down at a angle. It be at the bottom of this page. And i was wondering should i install a tv like this on the rear side of the speaker box so i can't watch it while i'm driving, and cause i want to use the car kind of like a show car i want to hook up my xbox. So do you think it's good idea, cause tha car is kind of going to be a show car, but will be driven almost everyday, except in winter.

Yes i'm serious, I don't BS people when i ask questions, 99% of the time i mean it.

Ya cause were not going to buy rear seats, cause i'm not going to haul anyone around, at least not 3 people. And the rear seat was so bad, and the price to repair them is so expensive mom said thats what were going to do. Were having my cousin help us (Works for global cooling just incase some one works there) cause he works with electronics, and hes put speaker in pretty nice house, and car so he'll help us when we install it. And moms done this kind of stuff before (Agina my moms familay works on cars and stuff, so she knows what she's doing.) Plus also got a guy from a local sound shop who gave me an idea on how we should it it, and it was the same way mom said, so i think we'll be ok. But ya i think it would be neat to have a TV. maybe not the XBOX but the TV might get in so i want your opinion. Don't forget, i like things diffrent, not riced, a little modified.

Someone here once posted pics of a 924 with a computer in the glovebox!

I thought it was pretty nifty.

But the whole "Pimp My Ride" thing bores me. Flashing lights and extra plastic don't make your car better...

You can of course do whatever you want with the car.

I wouldn't put a tv set in a car it just isn't my thing but then again staying inside the boundies of the law isn't my thing either.

Whatever you do, do it well, don't "half ass it".

Good luck.

eh...if you really want to make a 924 a show car, I guess go for it

but my 2 cents is that if you're looking to build a serious show car, honestly buy a new car. The 924 will be overlooked in the import/rice rocket tuner scene because it isn't powered by honda and will be looked down on in the euro scene because its not a 944. Also, in the euro scene, people tend to be turned off to the big wild tv-filled system installs (well, most of the time...I guess in the most extreme categories, that's starting to pick up). And furthermore, I'll just throw out that if you're going to put any kind of stereo equipment in this car, you'll also need to put enough sound deadening to take the fun right out of driving it. I believe some cars can be great platforms for mobile stereos, but the 924 just isn't one of them...its too loud and doesn't have enough sound deadening to make a powerful system sound good on the road. I guess if you just park it and blast the radio, its not as much of an issue, but it seems kinda silly to have a stereo designed for basically just when the car is parked.

If I were in your position, I'd consider just carpeting over the rear seat area...there's a great tutorial for that over on the Rennlist forums.

But its your car, do what you want....the above is just my 2 cents

Hey, is that pearlescent paint you've got, Porsche924boy? How'bout some more pics of that?

I just don't get the monster stereo installs. Especially not in a sports car.

In one of those Escalade-mobile-apartment-blocks or something... perhaps I could understand (even if I still see it as completely pointless). But in a Porsche?!

Spend your money on something that'll improve the performance, rather than degrade it.

Also just my $0.02.

agreed...not to beat a dead horse, but sound installs simply work better in big, heavy vehicles with lots of sound dampening. First, they often either don't have spectacular performance, or have decent performnce simply by force of high horsepower, and second, the dampening helps keep the sound waves in the car, which makes for a better listening experience. The 924 really doesn't have much sound dampening stuff in it, or, perhaps more importantly, room to install speakers. The doors are pretty much too thin for any serious component speakers, and I guess you could fill the trunk with subs and what not, but then you'll destroy the car's handling and hear nothing but boom boom boom.

wait Xbox in the car, why? it is a sports car, not a ricer. IMHO keep your back seat and put in a good system. 2-12" in a band pass on 2000 watts 2-6" midranges and 2-4" tweeter put those 500 to 700 watts. if you put a TV and Xbox in your car i forsee the back window smashed out and your stuff missing. also: limo tint and some nice crome porsche wheel off a 911 or 986. if you want to make it look... um.. cant find the word right now....but, pull the case off your AMP recess it the wood add some colored leds and cover with lexan or pexaglass, and carpets it all up

I have to disagree on 924 acoustics.
Yes, it's sound dampening isn't a first class, but othervise acoustics are very good.
IMO it's absolutely pointless to install mega-giga-speakers into the doors. In a Porsche, the good and right way is to use one sub-box which is not very big and is easily removable and not more than one, let's sey 4-channel amp. Using crossovers (passive filters) to separate bandwidths you achieve superb sound quality using just stock size speakers for mids and extra tweeters.
If you want to track the car, go ahead and remove the sub-box.
In my 931, I won't install more than just plain radio and 2 lightweight speakers, in order to keep the car as light as possible.
But as N/A is true daily driver, it's gotta have some comfort like power windows, mirrors, seats and good sound system.

I tell you somethign that you probably didn't think about. Since you have a 924 NA, I guessing it's old and has at least one place that water leaks in the cabin. That makes the cabin EXTREMELY humid when it rains, and guess what, water and electricity don't mix.

I put a PS2 in my ex's Eclipse, even without a leak, the PS2 was soaked when I took it out. Luckily these things are horribly inconvenent to use in a car so it didn't get turned on. I have a feeling that it would have been fried.

Unless you completely seal the xbox and TV with a dehumidier, It won't last that long. The ricers that do this have much new cars and usually live in Florida or Socal where it is hot and dry. Unless you do too, you'll be wasting your money.

I watched an episode of pimp my ride once and they put a coffee machine in this chicks car and put a fish tank in the back seat that's some funny shit.

call exzibit (sp)

I don't get the point of a tv or media in a sports car, I wouldn't mind a tv in an suv or whatever.

only electronic thing I would want in my car is a gps system, I don't care much about a 1000 watt system, as long as I can hear the music its fine.

I never found the joy in standing behind my car parked outside on the street with my buddys playing some video games. I really don't even like playing video games standing for more than 5 or 10 minutes...let alone on a 15 inch lcd in the back of my car.

you guys could use the TV monitors that Pimp My ride put underneath the front bumbers. That is the ultimate waste of money.
