According to haynes every time you reassemble banjo fittings in the fuel system, new copper washers are to be used...

Where are we supposed to get all these new copper washers?

Ive tried the hardware store, auto parts store, and have looked around on several websites without finding any that will work.

And ive got two banjo fittings that are leaking because ive reused my washers.

SpecialTauto.com is one source. Another might be a VW dealership. Can't be that expensive.

Most of the fuel systems' sealing washers are actually aluminum. In the parts lists, a description starting with "A" indicates aluminum. "A 8 x 11,5" would be for an aluminum sealing ring with 8mm ID and 11.5mm OD. Maybe no problem replacing with copper, but originally they'd have been alumin[i]um.
The copper sealing ring for the oil drain's designated with a C as "C 26 X 32".

Smoothie, you make a very good point. The following link shows Al & Cu to be on opposite ends of the galvanic chart, which is a bad thing over time.
