Saw the Audi's , test yesterday , wow so much torque they hardly do any gear changes, sounds almost like an automatic, very quite , smooth and fast , in contrast to the Porsche v10 squeeling like an F1 motor. THe corvette's looked faster than the Aston's. DID not get a chance to go over all the qualy numbers ( had to work ) but Saw Bobby Rahal's son , Graham and was told by top team members at AJR that they where very impressed with the kid as he is very Fast and smooth.
The Porsche looks like it has the pace to win the race , although it is a P2 car, but it is very hard to tell as Audi could be sand bagging , man that diesel v10 TT sounds like it is not trying, i think i want to play with diesels
now . _________________ 928 gts prototype

I kept listening to all that hype with the Audi and couldn't help but to think back two years ago when we were working on the TDI for 12Hour Club stuff. Damn! We were so far ahead of the curve! Then the SOB had to steal the car....
It was interesting reading the ACO rules for the car. Minimum cetane (the diesel equivalent to octane) of 50! Street fuel is 40, with "premium" diesel (very scarce) at 50. With that high of cetane I wonder what the compression was. My Jetta is already 19.5:1 (and you worry about an interference engine?).
The "clean" that they were talking about is the standard we were supposed to get here in theis country in January 2005, except for the election results. Hopefully it won't be postponed beyond October, but I'm not hopeful. I just had to clean the sulfur deposits out of my intake manifold from the EGR. |
