I dont torque it down enough .. I guess And its snowing today and its 6am & Im on my way to work 75 miles one way to a union carenter job ( Im
a 6 term apprentice thats 82% journeyman wage.. Im getting training also from the jatc all I need is about 1000 more hours & Ill turn journeyman) also specializing in eis.
Traffic is going really slow cause Im in one part of the valley where it gets cold & theres frozen snow around Im so bored I let the car ahead go then gun my motor spinin out
& shiften into 2nd and spinin some more...
I notice my belt starts whining
but make it to work not having any tools I decide to just go home soo ..
at about the same spot my car dies the cam belt teared off all its teeth enough to jump timing I get home while replacing the belt I
decide to pull the alt & check the bushings & rubber mount since I had to jack the front up ( one side) & pull the belly pan ... You think alls good not soo. the tensioner bolt came out with alot of threads wrapped around it I didnt have time today or friday to retap the hole so I used this stuff ..
http://www.gorillaglue.com/ on the bolt and then on the bolt and tensionercontact point ( this glue you moistin the part with water then apply glue and over time the glue swells doubling in size. It worked.

I use to have that problem with timing belts.... the teeth cutting off etc....
I found that I had too much tension on it. _________________ Ryan Moone

Holy smoke. That must be some pretty tough glue! _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)
