I have a 1980 931 with rear drum brakes. I need a wheel cylinder, but cant find one. The local auto parts store said he had regular 924 wheel cylinders in stock but that they were smaller bore than the Turbos. Does anyone know if this is true. If it is, does anybody know were i can get some. I need them badly, as my car is sitting under 3 inches of snow with no wheels and a leaky sunroof.

Your local parts store does not know what they are talking about.

931s and 924 with drum rear brakes both use the same size wheel cylinders.

You should be able to buy replacement wheels cylinders online (try www.stopshop&drive.com), and from your local Kagen, partsamerica, or NAPA store. You need to replace the wheel cylinders on both sides of the car at the same time.

Yep, gohim is right. The fore lug brakes are all the same. Turbo, or NA. The auto parts store guy is FOS.

I would go for 5-lug conversion, especially on 931
