Hello,
I'm new here. I'm from Belgium, and recently the proud owner of a '79 931 with Carrera GT body.
This car is not just a look, but has also some special mod's like the customized frontbumper, rearwindow washers, metal sunroof; tilt and slide (?), 17 inch 0Z wheels, electrically unlocking hatch.
See the pictures:
the "barnfind":
without the mess...:
Later I will post more pictures when the car is at my home.

Looks like a nice find. Did you have to pay a lot for it ? _________________ Ryan Moone

Welcome.
That's a good look with those lights mounted that way. Can you post some close-up pictures of the lights? _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

Those lights look like the replaceable bulb headlight units from a late 70's early 80's European Mercedes. The ones that we never got in the states as our Mercedes had sealed beam units. _________________ Ryan Moone

Hello,
the close-up of the lights I will post when the car is in my garage. that will be next week. At this moments the brakes havze locked, as the car has been standing there for a while.
The lights are 1980's CIBIE lights, used on racingbikes and on rallycars here in Europe.
I knew the car for almost 18 years, as it was during that time maintained in my father's garage.
The last owner was the person who transformed the car is this look, albeit first darkred, later blue. In the darkred shade it had BBS wheels with Michelin TRX tires, now it has 17 inch OZ wheels.
My mods will be an upgrade of the brakes, have a turborebuild, some paintjobs and a new interior.
Later on I will perform a 951 intercooler upgrade.

Another Belgian. I bought my '79 Turbo last year, have now taken apart the turbo system for reconditioning. Where do you go for parts? |
