Hey,

I plan on running 225/50 16s at all four corners and was wondering if any of you have experience wth wheel sizing in this regard. I know as a fact the 225 width tire will fit, so that is not the question. What I am wondering is will running 8 inch wide Phone Dials from a late offset 951 move the wheel/tire combo in or out in such a way so as to induce rub on either the fender lip or front springs. I have 8" wide D90s with 225 wide rubber that I run on the back now with no issues, and can mock up fit with those if it warms up a bit, but was wondering if anybody could speak to this right away.

ive run 225/50/15's all around on my 924s for autox and the only rubbing issues i had was the tire on the inner control arm/or was it the brake line?- on very very tight cornering. Pretty sure it was the control arm only- slightly taller/wider tires could be close though.

Hey Dan,

I know 225s fit alright with 7" wide wheels, I was mostly concerned with whether or not 16X8" wide Phones with late offset jigger the position in the wheel well enough to cause rubbing. Any idea about that? My thinking is that the extra inch wheel width is going to push the outside edge toward the fender lip and cause rubbing. Yes, no, maybe? If it is warm and not rainy Saturday I slap the rear 16x8 D90s on the front and see how it looks.
