Hi,
last time i've changed my clutch. But now, i've got a problem with the clutch play adjsuting. I know that the hydraulic clutch can't be adjusted, but when the turbo blow (at least 3000 rpm), the clutch run over.... where is the problem?
In normal use, i can drive with it, but the problem is present at an accélération after 3000 rpm.
thanks fot your help.

The hydraulic clutch is self-adjusting, but there is an adjustment at the pedal (to be sure the piston in the master cylinder retracts fully when the pedal is released). You should have 0.5mm freeplay at top where the pedal rod contacts the master cylinder - and 3.0mm freeplay down at the pedal pad. To adjust, there's a nut on the rod that needs to be loosened, then you'd turn the rod in or out to adjust, then tighten the nut again.

Of course it's possible that the clutch is fine and what you're feeling is actually something like a loss of power due to some other problem, but you might as well check the clutch pedal adjustment first.

Well, after tryed to adjust the clutch play, i think my clutch wrecked...
i had changed it , it was a second-hand buy, but it looked like ok: good thickness, good springs etc, perhaps the diaphragm spring....

for the time, i will drive with it. i can drive, but i can't speed up violently, 'cause the engine roll over
it's time to save money...

If you need to replace the clutch disc again, you can save money by getting one for a Ford Bronco II. They're the same size at 8-7/8", 1"x 23 spline hole. Look here - http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=10723&start=0

I don't know where you would find it in France. Here are some US suppliers -

Smoothie,

In 1991 Porsche changed the pedal adjustment specs on the 928 from .5mm freeplay to 1 complete rotation to preload. Since the 931 and 928 use common clutch release components, I wonder if this change should apply here. Was Porsche still publishing changes to the 924/931 workshop manual in 91?

I bought my manuals in about 1994 and they're only updated to 1980. I don't know what's been added since then. It's possible that the same recommendation was made for the 931..
Any idea why it was changed for the 928?

Smoothie,

Not sure why it was changed but readjusting the pedal on my 78 took away all the gear grinding. It's possibly they changed to composition of the blue hose which allowed more expansion.
