sounds like your eis isnt working properly. thats your electronic idle stabilzer. what happens is that when you turn things on, such as the a/c, the car will lower its idle speed...and this corrects it. someone correct me if im wrong. ive been messing around with mine for awhile now, trying to get it fine tuned. i would look there to start.

Actually, 924s up to and including 1980 didn't get EIS. 1981-up got it along with the change to TCI-H ignition for the 924NA and with DITC ignition for the 931. -So alxch1n15, you'd have it, but 924er wouldn't. A drop of 100rpm in a non-EIS car is probably normal, so no problem..

true that

yea its not really bothering me, its kinda wierd though. actually it comes in handy, do u ever see an idle stabalizer inside someone's car before?? i think not, so its kinda cool

Q: i was talking to a VW/porsche mechanic 2day and he said he can get me a tune-up for $150. is that a good price or what?? he said he will change the cap n rotor, sparks ect. and timing i think??

EIS was actually only available on US cars, so don't go looking for it if you have something else.
