I had to drive my car today, I had a doctors appointment in 20 minutes and had no other way to get there so I just drove my car. anyways when I was driving I noticed the blinker does not flash it just stays on. Last time I had a similar problem and I put a new relay on and it blinked again. but last time it wasn't the same when it wouldn't blink the rear signal light would come on it just would be on not blinking and also the emergency flasher would blink last time.

this time the dash shows a solid green arrow and the rear signal lights are not on and also when I try the emergency flasher again the emergency flasher lights up on the dash but the rear lights are not on and it also is not blinking on the dash.

can anyone help me with this? could it be another relay or is it a rusty wire. where should I check. I had arleady cleaned the fusebox. could be a water leak made something rusty again.

I don't have time for this, can anyone tell me the most likely spots to check?

thanks.

when I turn the headlights on the blinker light also comes on and stays on now... this is without the car running.

The language in your post isn't clear. Could you re-phrase you post into a list of numbered questions, one issue per question.

Check/change your signal or brake light bulbs. Whenever a bulb would go out on my side marker, or corner signal indicators they would light solid and the arrow on the instrument cluster would light solid too.

alright that was probably not clear enough.

when I turn the blinker or emergency flasher on, on the dash, the dash signal lights up (solid green arrow) and non of the rear lights come on (not even on and not blinking).

the brake light works and so does the lower light , below the turn signal light when I turn on the headlights the lower light comes on.

the signal lights on both sides don't come on at all and there is no blinking on the dash. I switched another ligh (I think brake light in its place and still it won't come on).

I'm guessing a bad ground somewhere, rusty connection maybe. where would the grounds be for the turn signal blinkers? I cleaned the grounds in the hatch area and they didn't do anything.

I don't have much time to spend on this so if I can't fix it fast I'll just leave it as I'm selling the car for whatever it sells for.

this just happened today I think it was working before, last time the blinkers would come on but they just didn't flash so I changed the relay and that fixed it.

if you have a turn signal bulb out it will only cause it to blink faster so the bulbs arent the issue, the problem at this time is related to your relay and or fusebox. dont worry about it and just sell the car

.I looked at the fusebox, the relay is new so I doubt it is broken. last time when the relay blew the turn signal lights would still light up but would not flash, now they dont' come on at all. oh well.

I have lots of school work and I'm selling the car for cheap so I don't really care anymore.

My next car might be another 924na if I find one in mint condition but more likely a 924S or 944 if I find one in really good condition.

My car is on ebay bid starts at $400. I've probably spend close to 4000 including the purchase price but I don't have much choice, I don't want to car to just sit and turn into an ornament on my driveway.

I haven't tried selling it in the papers yet, on Ebay you won't get much but I'd rather not have people phoning me and wasting my time.

I'm impressed, Tim, your car looks a lot better than I imagined it from your posts (apart from the sunroof disaster area!)

I'm also disappointed that you've given up on it, but that's my problem.

Anyway, I wish you good luck selling your car on E-Bay (I see you already have a bid!) Make sure you recommend this forum to the buyer!

PS You need more practice with your digital camera - your pictures are all 'way too dark!

it's because I took the pictures at 4 pm today and it was already getting dark, it was also cloudy and now its raining pretty heavy. It doesn't stop raining here during the winter.

I won't be making any money off of this but losing alot of money, car cost me a total of 4000 and I won't get much if anything from this auction just cost me 60 dollars to list.

I set a really low reserve makes me sad to sell the car after I spent so much time and money on it.

My next car will be a 924S or 944 hopefully I can find a nicely maintained one.

as an occasional seller on ebay i have a few remarks on your add, i hope its not to late to edit it!

1. the pics are to dark, if i was a prospecting seller i would become suspicous of the low light (think of damages in the laquer), also you cant really see the car!

2. whats up with the wire hanging down in the interior pic? that looks bad, try at least to exclude it from the pic.

3. you are a little bit to honest when it comes to the repairs needed, "some minor fixing" is a standard clause when selling a car. try to make it seem like the problems are very simple and even an idiot could fix them.

4. dont write very low reserve, people will bid low as an effect of this!

im not saying this out of spite but just trying to help you recoup some of your losses and jack up the price on the car.

cheers,
Erik

Some people might be leery of buying an item as potentially expensive as a car from someone on Ebay, especially someone whose only feedback is for this: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=47004&item=5649146253

Anyway, I say the sooner you unload your 924 and get yourself into an Accord or Camry, the better. I can only imagine what kind of hell you must be going through with a car that breaks something new every day.

Tim, that NIOXIN stuff is not going to get your receding hairline back. The disposal of your 924 might.

(I am sad to see you giving up though...)

i don't know if i agree with that statement. statements like that can easily get you into trouble, too. they guy i bought my 931 from on ebay said "needs a little TLC". Well, that TLC included fixing tons of electrical issues including nearly untraceable battery drainage, worn out suspension, bad fuel pump, broken starter, what's currently looking like worn out distributor, tons of noise, broken odometer (go figure), and probably a number of other things i haven't caught yet. well, i got a partial refund from the guy for making it sound so plain and simple and then costing me well over $1500 after the buying price of $2k. if you're going to auction it, i'd say be as upfront as possible so that the right person gets it and knows what they're getting into before they have it. that way, if there are issues that come up, it's not on some unsuspecting sap who bought the car as a daily driver, and then turns around and gets money back from you for it.

thanks I'm not sure if I can add some more pictures in better light.

yeah that wire looks bad when I showed it to people they laughed.

I just wrote everything that is wrong even though its minor because I don't want them complaining and bitching about it when they come and get the car some people are crazy, but i could condense it a bit.

haha no I don't have a receeding hairline.

I've bought and sold a couple of things on ebay but I haven't asked them to leave me feedback I think that's what most people do.

Hey at least I'm more honest than those other car adds "Just needs some love"
