i have a prob with my heating system, when i flick the switch the light comes on but no air/heat comes out from any of the outlets. the guy who sold the car said that i only needed to change a 'little black box', anyone knows what he was referring to?
anyway, in which end should i start checking the system?

The switch you are referring to - is that for the rear demister?
The normal heating control doesn't have a light in it.

The heat slider activates a cable and turns a valve underneath the ign coil.

no im not talking about the rear defroster right under the steering wheel, on my car there is a switch directly over the heater slider controls, its mounted sideways and has 3 positions, when i flick it on a light on it comes on. maybe it isnt the heater switch?

I think that is a switch for separate fog lights- optional extra and is on all models.
Does SFA.
Heater control is by a slider activating a valve.

the car has foglights? i assumed that they were built into the lights, well thats what you get for having a german manual.

the question stays the same, in which end do i start checking the heater?

Fog or driving lights are in the front bumper on Euro Spec or ROW cars. Depending on what country you are in you could have foglights or driving lights in the bumper.

Three positions on the switch are: Off, Rear Fog, and Front and Rear Fog lights. I don't know for sure which position is Rear Fog Only.

This is a very desirable optional bumper for US cars as they are not offered by Porsche in the U.S.

If the air comes out cold or normal, is the heating valve, is black. Its situated near the coil...Perhaps you can move correctly to de heat position.

(Im Spanish, from Madrid, if my English is not very well...SORRY!!!)

Underneath the ign coil you'll see a hose coming out of the firewall and going to a black and white plastic valve. This valve turns the heater on and off.
It may be disconnected, seized or cable broken.

If you have no air at all the fan may be u/s. Hard to get to on the early model as you have to pull the entire heater.

Have you checked the fuse for the blower motor, or the relay?

took of the cover today to check it out and i found the following,
it has something to do with the motor, as the flap moves up and down on command but the fan does not work, cleaned the contact points and still nothing. will check my fuses relays tomorrow as now its time for a pizza!

completly unrelated
i removed the wiper motor today to see what was wrong and after filing and spraying wd-40 on the contacts the wipers actually work at satisfactory speed but when i was reinstalling the motor i just coulnt get it to fit because of the plastic contact, ended up i had to remove it and install the motor with it not screwed to it, is this normal?
also the wipers dont return to zero postition when i turn them off?

either the wipers have got rotated slightly, or you have replaced the sensor bit incorrectly if they are 90degrees out. i think.

Do the wipers always stop at the same place when you switch them off? If so, then you reinstalled the wiper motor (and/or the wiper arms, did you remove the arms?) in a different position, from when you took them off.

If the wipers stop at a different position each time you turn them off, then I will guess that the intermittent wiper function doesn't work either, and the intermittent wiper relay is either missing, or defective.
