Haltech products are in the upper-middle range of the aftermarket ECUs. From memory, the E6S was the most advanced of the "E6" range of fuel and ignition computers. The E6 range has been superceeded over the last year.
If you haven't already, go to their web site http://www.haltech.com.au/ and you can download all their manuals including the one for the E6S. There is also a very good discussion forum where you can get an idea of what guys using it think of the E6S and what sort of problems they had.
Haltech support was not very good in the US which was a problem with the US distributors not Haltech themselves.
If the price is right it would be a great ECU for a 924/931.
And of course, it's Australian _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

Thank you, Peter!
The price is just under 1000$ US, including all necessary wiring, sensors, and even not-the-newest laptop. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

hmmmm, price seems too high to me although I have no idea what things cost where you are.
A year ago when the E6S was still current the recommended price here was around US$1100 including taxes so say about US$1000 export price.
For that price you can get the latest Wolf 3D ECU http://www.wolfems.com.au/home
Tell him he's dreaming.
Here's an E6A on Aus Ebay for $500 (say US$375) with less than one day to go http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HALTECH-E6A_W0QQitemZ4601116113QQcategoryZ50138QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)
