| Is there some reason why you need to use those porsche spark plug wires with the resistor and the metal boot on a 924? I don't have a radio in the car (keeps getting ripped off). |

You ought to have some form of suppression, just for the sake of other road users who want to listen to their radios!
But you don't really need the expensive Porsche leads. Any decent make of leads will do the job. Most have built-in resistors, plus most spark plugs have built-in resistor too.
I think the metal shrouds are more for heat protection than suppression, but there aren't really necessary.
I have a set of after-market plug leads on my car, with no metal shrouds, I think they have a built-in resistance and I have no problems with either radio interference or leads breaking down through heat. _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

I'd like to add that the spark plugs are quite deep in the head (at least in the Turbo, I don't know about the NA). I found that the head on normal plug leads weren't long enough. I have aftermarket leads but they have especially long heads on them, to reach into the spark plug recess. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Mine are like Khal's, after market, with the metal shroud so they're longer and MUCH easier to reach there between the manifold. _________________ Mike

Bosch makes plug wires for the N/A and the turbo. Available at any autoparts store, and no more expensive than for a Honda. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |
