Not sure if this will help you, because i dont have a 944T unit, but this is how i did mine. I think some others have been able to but the 944 unit infront if the radiator, the biggest part is making or finding the pipe, connectors to route it all, here is a link where i got some connectors and stuff http://vecco.net/bends.htm
Do a search on the baord under fm ic
Here are a few pictures of mine, right side of intake pipe is for overboost switch, left side to wastgate.

mustangporsche, what kind of intercooler is that?
Also, I noticed you went over the dizzy, did you have to modify the way the fuel lines run in order to do that and then drill through the front end there... I just want some details on that..
I just purchased a front mount, just trying to decide how I'm gonna make it work.. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

.
Well the intercooler was one that came off a Mitsubishi Starion turbo, it is easy to route the lines to because they come right out of the top, most other ic come out the bottom or side and that makes it tougher to route lines to. What kind did you get?
Check out this site, he did one similar with same intercooler. Good Pic. and directions. http://www.alexroy.net/931intercooler.html
Yes I ran, them over the fuel dist. but I lowered it as much as I could, also you can bend them down a bit, but be careful only a little. Also the only way it will fit under the hood is you have to flatten the pipe in that area some, so it’s kind of oval like. I did it by just tacking the pieces together than put it in the press then went ahead and welded it all up. One thing to consider it type of pipe to use, I used aluminum I think it’s the best next to stainless. Than powdercoated them or you can sand and polish them. A lot of work though.
How I routed the pipes is if you take a look under the front panel on the 931 you will see four oval cut outs, I think for air flow, I ran the pipes through them, I had to modify them some to get them to fit, used die grinder and air chisel, also you have to cut or hammer down the sheet metal bend that is after it goes through the oval opening. Or you can get an angle piece of pipe that would go over it. It just takes time to get everything to fit right. You will also have to come up with a way to rout it since there is not much up there to mount to I had to weld a strap onto the original mount, than back far enough to mount to something solid. Good luck, let my know if there is anything else I can help with, I will try _________________ 81 931

I got a nice front mount with the outlets on the ends, but its a bit too long... I might have to sell it off (200$ waste) and try to get a starion...
Plus my front bumper is stock, so I dont know if theres the same amount of room... _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

yeah that would be your best bet, or just find one that has the pipes coming out the top. yeah i dont think it will be very easy if at all possible to mount it with the stock bumper on, unless you cut it? I cant remember what it was like before i changed mine, but i dont think there is much room _________________ 81 931

I noticed that your throttle body is round not oval, what is it and is it easy to install? Thanks _________________ 1980 924 Turbo (in pieces right now, but getting there) almost there

Well it isn’t anything special it is the stock one, mine it an 81, I think the earlier ones were oval, if you want a round one it should bolt up. _________________ 81 931

The intake manifold is different on the late cars as well. |
