Cool pix, and nice project...how about some details, like:
1. What seat are you using?
2. Can you explain the vents in the bumper in the 7th photo???I'm assuming you had a Euro bumper to start with...what did you use for those vents? Presumably, they're directing air to the IC??? _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Details Eh??
Ok, the seat will be a Recaro, probably the Apex model. Next on the shopping list is a set of Schroth 6 point harnesses.
Next weekend, i have a Safety Devices 2.5 kg AGG plumbed in fire system going in, with a hand held as backup.
Also, the front cage section goes in, as well as the door bars, and then, finally, i can put the fibre glass doors in with lexan side windows and a window slider kit.
The suspension is still top secret, so sorry, no info there!
A gripper plate type LSD will be going into the dogleg box, and a nice big set of front brakes, possibly from a 968 will go on.
Once all that is done, add in the countless odds and sods needed to bring the car up to scratch, oh and a carbon fibre panel to patch in the sunroof,
and voila, we have a nice easy way of spending a shed load of ££.
The vents in the front are for A0 One each side to feed air to the brakes, the one on the left will direct air to the turbo and the remainder will feed cold air to the cone filter, which is now located there.
FWIW, many parts will be for sale like the Bilstein suspension units and brakes, so if any of you guys want them, give me a shout sooner rather than later.
Regards,
Steve |

nothing special - just my usual track day venue (and perfect for a fast 931 - I run out of gears in my XR2 - 7100 rpm in top by halfway down the back straight)
Donington run track days all through the year - Bookatrack also do some reasonably priced ones.
Do you ever get to Cadwell? - I'm thinking of going there on Wednesday 27th Jul with Bookatrack _________________ current - '90 944S2, '00 986S,

If anyone wants to set a date of july 27th it would give me a target date to have the old girl running right!
I'm only about 30 mins from Cadwell so it would be ideal for me.
Not so ideal if you live near Brands methinks. _________________ '24 turbo with dodgy gt bodykit......needs a new home |

Gents,
Well the I/C is now in!! Have a look and see what you think. I even had enough bits left over to fashion a old air intake by relocating the air filter to the area under the near side headlight location and directly in line with the air vent in the front.
Next up it's the fibre glass doors and lexan windows. |

Nice job, you should be in the guiness book for the speed you're knocking these jobs out!
What size samco's did you use in the end?
I need pretty much all the items in the first pic (except the relocated air filter bit).
What material and size of metal pipe did you use?
Also, where has your windscreen washer bottle gone? _________________ '24 turbo with dodgy gt bodykit......needs a new home |

Cleethorpes,
All the Samco pipes are 63mm, with the exception of the inlet manifold, which is a 76-63mm reducing elbow. the tube is 63mm aluminium, so nice and light.
Washer bottle?? No need, track car only!!
Also, the plumbed in fire ex system is in, but i couldn't be bothered to photo that!!,
Oh, AND the front section cage. Not bad for a solid day's work
And nearly forgot, there is a bloody grat fan behind the rad now. With it running, you can see the air being dragged into it, when you blow smoke across the front.
Also modified the thermostat, so she runs ata nice 65 deg.
I think you will find the I/C pipe work much more complicated if you want to keep your airbox. |

PO ditched the airbox, just a K&N sitting directly on the mixture unit.
Today, like yourself I got loads of things done....well the horn works now anyway!
Only dilema I have now is finding an insurer that will cover for short periods, as I you can't register an imported car on a sorn - it HAS to be insured?? Bloody stupid as the car was registered in 1982 in the uk, then in the 90's was taken to NI, which excuse me, I reckon, is still strictly speaking the uk.
The insurers seem to like full years payment up front, I don't like it though! _________________ '24 turbo with dodgy gt bodykit......needs a new home |

How did you sort out the connection to the throttle body? Did you get a special oval to round piece of silicon or did you just stretch a regular piece on there and clamp it?
Impressive work with the IC and the dash. Whole car really. _________________ 1979 931 with a 350 chev
