I have deformed my front tires blocking them in hard braking, the Porsche Festival is next week and I donīt want to buy new tires before that (they have only 8000 kms in them)
Is it possible to rotate them so that the front ones are in the rear axle and the rear in the front?
Maybe steering shimmy will be less and I can manage some fast laps
I think doing this I can compete in the circuit xcross and change my tires after the festival
Do you think this is dangerous? _________________ Euro 924 1980 N/A

i dont think changing them on the back would help you...the car might oversteer too much then.....now bad could you have deformed them ? i have shitty tires too but i dont race it with these tires. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

If your tires are damaged, then get new tires. If you had a plane and a wing was about to fall off, would you say "I just bought that!, screw it! We're using that wing for another year!"?
If you crash and someone finds out you had damaged tires, look out! I'd whoop you good if you struck me during an event with poor tires.
And rotating the tires moves the problem to the rear, it doesn't solve anything. |

Are you sure the rotors aren't warped? Does the shimmy get significantly worse with light braking? If so, turn the rotors. Also, what about wheel balance? _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

put them on the rear and light em up that should take enough off haha
but most of these guys were talking about the rotors not the tyres. _________________ 3 928s, |

If you can feel a shimmy in the steering put the front wheels to the rear.
If the shimmy's still there after that have a good look at your rotors.
Have fun at the Porsche Festival and then buy two new tyres. Put these on the front, where they'll do most good and returm the rears to where they were to start with.
In the meantime, don't do too much hard driving until you're confident in the feel of the car and you should be OK. _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

The N/A has solid front rotors which buckle after they have had to much wear or been machined to thin.
Gives a mongrel of a shimmy at speed and under braking.
Replacement only including front wheel bearings. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA
