Anyone on the board running 17inch wheels? just wondering. I'm look at a new set of wheels and tires(probably going to put 5 lug disks all around first) but i just wanted to see some pics of what it would look like.
And what do you think, 16's over 17's. i have some friends that think 17's might be to big and make it look dorky. _________________ late 1979 porche 924, red 2.0l NA 5speed snailshell

Either depending on ride comfort....
with the lower profile you will get alot more road response but also tend to follow grooves in the road and get a harsher ride if the roads are bumpy where you live...
The bonus is there are alot of newer tyres that are unavailable in 15" now so going for a 16 will be good in that respect.
The other bonus is a 16" rim will allow bigger brakes, the S model (not the 2.5litlre 924S) but the S for sports model came with 928 brakes and hubs and flat dish 928 16" wheels.
You could also fit the 931 setup like I did and run a 6 inch front rim and 7 inch rear, going aftermarket you may be able to get an 8 ich rear with a different offset.
Something with a big dished rim will look nice too, but unless you like cleaning try to stay away from multispoke rims, the ones with 20 spokes around the rim, been there done that...
Lastly look for something light, and for a pic of something more modern looking and not porsche check out this link ....http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=17179

thanx alot, i didnt know about the whole 928 or 931 stuff, ill definatley look into that.
I dont think lots of spokes would look good on a 924 anways. But if they did my dad owns a carwash so the cleaning thing is no big. _________________ late 1979 porche 924, red 2.0l NA 5speed snailshell
