I have a 1979 924 and I wish to remove the heater box which is at the center of the dash board. I have alredy removed the whole air conditioning system. But if I remove the heater would it cause me problems? How should I do it? Im not planning to put it back on. I just whant to remove these because I dont even use the AC or the heater. NEED HELP. click "924 Technical Section" above then "12- Bodywork" and then "3 - Dashboard - removal and installation".

Took me less than two hours last Sunday including coffee breaks.

It's easy enough to remove the heater core, but you're going to need to plug the heater coolant lines. If you want to reinstall it ever again, make a flange plate to block off the heater core flange. If not, cut off the lines in the engine bay, stuff a bolt in them and clamp it with a hose clamp.
