Every time it rains ( which is almost every other day in South Wales ) I get a swimming pool in the rear passenger footwell.
There is no noticable leak from the sun roof and the area around the fotwell is bone dry.

Any ideas where my problem lays?

Take your battery out and look at the tray it sits in. Very common leak area for 924.

Yup - I cut out the rust in the battarey tray, and sure enough, next time it rained, I had water all over the floor. I keep the car under a cover for now, but eventually I'll weld it up.
Try to use a screwdriver to punch holes in the bottom of the panel on which battarey sits - I think all this acid and rain cause it to rust out before everything else. If you manage to make holes, remove as much material as you can to keep rust from spreading - it's like cancer. Then weld it up or pour expanding construction foam into the hole until you have a good base, sand it even with the rest of the surface, and then fiberglass the whole pan. That should keep the rust out. Drilling a small hole in the side towards the engine, for water to escape, will also help.
