Any ideas? Seems to run warm - am guessing that it's in need of flushing?

Considering that heat rises, it is not unusual for the bottom to be less hot. If it's more than a few degrees difference, it is plugged. A flush might help IF the tubes aren't completely plugged. If completely plugged, it will need rodded by a radiator shop or replaced.
