|
|
My car has had lots of "issues" in the 2 years that I have it (some my fault as blowing my clutch in last year Porsche Festival in Buenos Aires circuit)
One issue that I couldn't adress yet is high fuel expenditure driving in town (17 liters in 100 kms) In highways or other roads it is way lower (around 10 each 100 kms)
I've changed WUR (new) fuel accumulator, rubber boots and did lotīs of tune Ups (the air filter is new also)
Any ideas please???
The car is ROW 125 HP 1980 N/A _________________ Euro 924 1980 N/A

Notice any loss of performance? Have you checked compression, plug wires (look for arcing under the hood in the dark, good connections), plugs (proper heat range, gap), vaccuum leaks, system voltage (can affect how hot the spark is). Just brain-storming here.
ahhhhhh, just noticed your consumption is OK at highway speeds. Maybe something sticking in the CIS? Try fuel system cleaner, ie., Chevron Techron. Driving style? Clutch slippage? _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

Thank you Tigger 937!!!!
I donīt think sticking brakes is the answer, this car does an easy 200 kms/h every time
Iīve already tried injectors cleaning (Techron) _________________ Euro 924 1980 N/A

Perhaps injector spray pattern/leaking injector(s)? _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

That could be the answer....
When I was at the factory in July I bought 4 new injectors and the a..... sold me the part for 79 and previous cars.
Couldnīt get a change nor a refund so for now I'm stuck with the old injectors _________________ Euro 924 1980 N/A

Not certain, I'm guessing here, but didn't '79 and earlier cars operate with a lower system pressure resulting in injectors being spec'd that opened earlier, ie., at a lower pressure?
Either way, you could always sell your injectors here or on EBay and get the correct ones. It wouldn't be a total loss. _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)
