I have an oil leak from both the front and rear of the cam housing gasket, and I can't live with the amount of oil I'm burning off, so I'm going to get it fixed. I understand this entails removing the balance and timing shafts, which is quite expensive, so I'm looking to get any other preventative maintenance that requires this much expense done at the same time.
So does anyone have any suggestions? I'm sure my mechanic will have suggestions, but I'd like to get a second opinion. The car is a 1987 924S with c.a. 75k miles on it. Only work done to the engine has been two front-of-engine services at 33k and 68k miles. _________________ 1987 924S |

Since the intake has to come off, I'd do all the vac and oil vapor lines, the aux air valve, all the gaskets, new t-belt, new hose clamps.
Heck, if you're that close to having the head off... _________________ '88 944 Auto - may or may not resurrect |
