Has anybody ever tried a radiaising and flaring the rear wheel arches? I am not talking about 944 flares, just a standard flare, so bigger rubber can be run. I saw an old 260Z with flairs and big rubber the other day, and it looked pretty good.

simsport has done this to his 933 look alike, also check the archives and look at the 933 to see how it looks,

Unless you are going to up the hp considerably, wider/heavier rear tires are only going to make you go slower.

You can already use factory 7" wheels if you have four wheel disc brakes, and you can probably go 7.5" wheels with custom offset.

If you are willing to roll the inner fender lips (you can do this by sticking a baseball bat between the wheel and the fender, and sinply rolling it around the wheel. This way you can easily go 8" wheels.

What more could you want with stock hp for no money?

If you just cut the opening bigger you can get
like a baseball bat or something round roll it over the top
of the wheel after sticking one end in the opening this will
flair the opening nicely saw them do it on monster garage.

I cut my body up about 3 inches at the top of the arch. Then curved it to the bottom of both sides for a nice half circle. I then welded the top of the body to the underside of the wheel opening. Pictures are on this site but you have to search for them. I think Audidog has them.

im looking for something like this, everything else ive seen is WAAAY to 80's looking,
I just got some 2002 carera wheels that are 9 in the rear, and 7 in front and it looks like i could use about 1-1.5" more clearance, but i like the trim non flared look,(like the 944), i like how the 924 body has a more "light-fun" more innocent look, Kinda more like a miata, vs a 944 which is more like a viper relatively speaking[/list]
