Not many may remember, but back in Nov 03 I briefly asked a few questions to get headed in the right direction with a 117Kmile 88 924S. I won it off eBay for $2727 after decades of lusting, drove it 47 miles home, overheated twice on the way, had problems with the electrics, and had to dive into a front engine maintenance right off the bat. What a baptism. Registration problems, underway with the Navy, insurance nightmares, the perception of being rich (bad thing with a vicious ex-), and little time to work on it. Oh, good news, I got remarried along the way and she SUPPORTS my love of the car (guess who's getting a new leather shift boot for his birthday!)! Well, IT LIVES! After two years torn apart, she's back on the road this last month, insured, registered, emissions sat, and running nice. Still could use new tires, shocks, touch up paint... the list is endless but manageable. She's become my daily driver till the snow flies and then I'll do more work. THANK YOU one and all, not only for your encouragement then but for your sage words since. Even when I didn't log in, there was enough other questions and answers to keep me going. Bravo Zulu. Pictures to follow soon. _________________ "Those who fail to learn from history's lessons are doomed to repeat them."

Congrats!!!!
when you were first talking I thought you were refering to roughly a 1 month period of time haha,
just be glad your ex did do what a couple of 928 owners exs did one of them shot his 928 up and in court said that he spent too much time with the car. and the other was a gf that took a bat and a knife to the car, both were complete write offs. _________________ 3 928s, |

Got the car between spouses. That and a new motorcycle were my "rewards" to myself after what I'd been through. Met the new wife about the same time as getting the Porsche. She thought I deserved it (made some great points for my impression of her!) and supports my work on it as long as it doesn't take over my life. No worries there. Balance, and my kids, are where it's at these days. Speaking of kids, 3 out of 4 teens in my house want it BAD. Guess I'll have to start looking for more cars, they ain't getting mine. _________________ "Those who fail to learn from history's lessons are doomed to repeat them."
