I don't see why not. Of course it's only the hose and radiator part...do you have the original Porsche "manifold" part that attaches to the block? _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

yep, everythings still there. the panelbeater couldnt attach the hoses to the secondhand 931 oil cooler i got, he had a problem with the connector fittings. he just plumbed the hoses back into itself. could this have contributed to my blown headgasket?? i dont have the 931 cooler anymore, it was lost. _________________ '86 944 |

I'd say no. The oil cooler would have a relatively small effect on engine cooling and a problem with any combination of water cooling, timing, air:fuel mix, fuel octane, cracked head, faulty gasket or bolt torque would be more-likely suspects. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. The threads on the Porsche lines are a bit werid and I've found in the past that guys like Enzed can't match the fittings. I run a secondary oil cooler for the GT (and fro racing) and this is a 9 row unit mounted in front of the radiator plumbed in tandem to the original cooler. What we did to run this cooler was cut one of the original lines and splice in a two new lines which go to / from the new cooler.
if you're going to run a solely after market line get Enzed or someone to brase a new hydralic fitting onto the steel line and then you can get off the shelf fittings and have the lines made up to suit the new location of the cooler I've also found when I replaced teh GT cooler with a big cooelr mounte din fron t of teh radiator it wasn't suitable for NZ weather conditons (while racing) engine ran too hot, hence the reason to go to two smaller oil coolers _________________ Remember a Porsche is not just for Christmas,
if you take it to pieces slowly it can provide anguish all year long! |
