I noticed that when I have my brights on and I pull the switch all the way back to turn them off, both the high and low beams come on, providing a "fog light effect." Is there a way to rewire them so that I have a switch so that I can have this happen when I want it?

Yes but I'm not sure how to wire them like that. It seems like a lot of, load on the lines though.

Each filament in each headlight has a separate wire and fuse (4 in total) for the + side, but only 1 ground per side.

So the + would be fine, but running this way might overload the ground wires (anyone know if they are bigger, I'm watching Monday night football and don't want to look it up?)

Another problem might be the headight assembly over heating.

In this country, such a configuration would be illegal and the car would fail it's MoT Test. Better check if it's OK in your neck of the woods.

Indiana doesn't check for anything. It could be illegal, but so are so many other things that people do to the cars, lol

I had the same problem (the fog effect), i just adjusted my headlights, they were pointing too high, and the fog effect went away. Both my bulbs could still be on, i never thought that was the problem,(never looked) but i dont have fog anymore after i adjusted them.

just a fyi
