| Does anybody know how to release a shaft from the clutch disc because myne doesn't. It's stuck, I tried everything so far. I bought a new clutch kit and tried to put it on. I loosen everything up to remove the clutch disc and pressure plate. I tried to slide the transmission back, but it just wouldn't. Does anybody live near here in Chino, CA that would help me. I really need help, so this car could be back in the road. |

edit forgot model in title
first question, are you taking the torque tube off the bellhousing? or the bellhousing off the engine?
I recommend that you take the torque tube off the bellhousing, now keep in mind though that there are a couple of pins in the bellhousing which line the torque tube up and can become corroded over time and stick the best method imo is to take a 2x4 and hold it on the bottom of the torque tube and smack it a few times with a hammer REALLY hard. _________________ 3 928s,

Have you removed the clutch fork yet? It's held by a shaft that's a real pig to remove. Haynes tells you to screw a bolt into the end of it and pull it with a slide hammer or reasonable hand-drawn facsimile. It can be driven out from behind but I think this can only be done with the engine out. _________________ '88 944 Auto - may or may not resurrect |
