| Hi guys, just sitting around waiting for the snow to fly. My spring project is to delete the AC unit from my car as it hasn't worked for some time. I've seen the Paragon delete kits for the 944 and was wondering if they can be used on the 924. Anybody done this, and is it a pain? Thanks |

| you should reconsider removing your AC. when an ac unit goes bad it is usually caused by the rubber O rings start to leak, you loose the refrigerant, and the pressure sensor in the compressor senses that the fluid and oil are low,and to protect the compressor from damage do to low oil,it disengages the electric clutch, and then it doesnt work. I believe it would be worth risking the 20 dollars to buy a few pounds of FR 12 or 13 and put it in your ac to see if $150 or more compressor is still good replace O rings first. FR 12 is the replacement refrigerant for R12 or 13,since freon was banned in the US you might trash your ac because %5 worth of O rings are bad, find out for sure before you throw it away salesmen work on commission and are thieves. call your local community college and see if they train ac techs they may look at it for free. |
