Just wanted to post for anyone living in, has family in or otherwise is effected by Hurricane Katrina.
Heart and Prayers go out to you and yours.
I was thinking today how absurd it was for me to get upset over a clutch and my cell phone both not working, got mad about the phone... till someone mentioned it was related to the storm...
Then it hit home.... lot of people worse off. Going to donate to the local red cross and cathlic services. I suggest others do what the feel motivated to do... days, weeks, months without electricity... hard to say cat 4 and 5 hurricanes are no joke, been in a few, lot of work before and after, helping those in need. One of my fondest memories of the many years in the army is helping at home and overseas...
Well I can tell you, anything I make or sell or whatever... going to donate a portion of the proceeds to the red cross and others.
Nuff said. If your are a praying man... do so for those in need, those that lost everything, including loved ones. |

yeah it does look pretty bad. houses have water up to the roofs.
after the water goes down would these houses and building be repairable?
I'm guessing the water would have damaged them beyond repair.
that must suck to rebuild the entire city. _________________ 78 924 sold.

Being a victim myself and having seen the destruction first hand that Mother Nature can bring, my heart goes out to these people. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

Certainly makes one pause and think. It's why Belize moved their capital city inland out of harms way but it still didn't stop people from living on the coast at or below sea level. They lost 5000 in 1931 and 500 in 1961. I keep telling them they're overdue for another.

I live in a cyclone zone and experience them occasionally.
In 1974 Dec 25 a cyclone hit Darwin in Australia.
I was part of the clean up crew which arrived Jan 1.
The town was nearly wiped off the map.
Some pics can be seen here which can give some of you insight into the devastation which can be caused by nature in its fury.
