since I got my car the headlights did not fit into the panels. when I manually move my headlights down they won't go all the way down because the edge of the headlight closest to the fender hits the fender . both headlights are too close to the fenders and there is a too large of a gap on the other inner side.

I tired everything to fix them. I was told it was alligment so I unscrewed the adjusting points both from under the fender and also the other end but its not allignment. I can't get them to move further away from the fender.

I'm pretty sure my car was in a crash at some point and someone just made a shitty repair. my doors are also welded on by someone (welding looks ugly and my driver door doesn't fully shut because of this).

anyways I looked at the headlights and from what I see the inner mounting part (not the fender one) is bent inward and welded to the nose panel this way so the headlights are foreced to be too close to the fender.

from what I see this mounting part has to be cut where it is welded to the nose panel and thembend further back and then welded again.

I don't know if I shut cut the welded part off and bend it and get the headlights to fit then to get someone to weld it.

anyone know what i'm talking about. here are some pics.

also I need to replace my entire headlight system including all the moving parts.

would I have to find a 924 in a junkyard ? would a 944 headlight system be the exact same size and parts to bolt on correctly?

Well, My 924 Headlight system was meesed up in an accident before we bought the car. The headlight that was fit in was so big that it slightly scrapes the metal while closing it. Why dont you change the head light itself, or take it out and try closing the system manually?

yes tim your car has been in a front end collision at one time,
as per the bracket there, I cannot tell from the picture if it is bent.
but I would go to a body shop and have them look at it and give you an estimate
in regards to the 944 setup, yes it should be the same, but it has been awhile since I looked at the wiring and the wires may be different, esp on the late 944s
