2. Can you tell me what boost contoller is good for not to muh money and how, where to hook it up?
3.Where in the world can i hook up a oil temp gauge? i have a vdo gauge from vw
4.will a vw vdo temp gauge work with the factory sending unit
5. how to you set timing at the crank, cam and distrubuter. I have had the motor out and apart but have never in my life set timing - detailed instructions would be great - i understand TDC etc but not sure how exactly.

ok i have searched for two days, searched searched and searched more. Maybe im asking the wrong questions?

My dilema, I removed the engine and while I had it out replaced the timing belt and other stuff (like everything) But I am sure that whole replaceing the belt the cam turned some.... The manual says to set up the cam gear to the mark and go ahead. This cannot be all. I must have to make sur ethe bootom end is the same as the top end. HELP Im out of my league I have no idea how to set timing in this car, oops or any car i guess!! I have a friend you has some experience but i want to be 100% sure how to set it all up. So if anyone can help that would be excellent. You could refer me to an article or other site or just explain in great detail what to do!!! Thanks

There is a small notch in the crank pulley. Line the notch up with the pointer.

Then double check the mark on the flywheel through the timing window - very hard to see.

Then set the cam timing 'dot' on the backside of the cam pulley to the pointer.

Adjust the timing belt tension and recheck marks.

thats it, that will match the bottom end to the top end. I was worried that I would have the top and bottom at opposites. So, im good then thanks!!!
