Hey too all those who have been hit in their 924s... I feel for you.

Thursday night I was hit while waiting to turn. My car is totalled... Thank god I was not in my 924! I was with my kids in my 1998 Nissan Maxima. The guy hit me because he was looking at his cell phone. Of course he says he was doing 40mph... but I would say more like 50. There was only a brief skid sound and wham!!!! Glass everwhere and we were thrown into the SUV in front of us. Destroyed both front and rear of the Maxima. Kids were ok and I basically have whip lash and maybe some cracked ribs from the seat belt. Ug!

Anyone know a good lawyer

If anyone is interested in pictures... tell me where to send them to have them posted.

Heck if I were in the 924 I would likely be in jail for assult. I would have jumped out... assuming I and the kids were ok... and pummled that kid!

Just glad no one was seriously hurt.

Thanks... yeah I can not imagine what would have happened to it. It would not have been good. She has protected me many a times when I have screwed up... but not sure how she could have weathered that hit!

I was a good 10 feet away from the SUV with my foot on the brake! Yet when you see the pictures you will think I hit some one head on!

that sucks I would be really pissed off at the idiot that smashed into your car.

At least you're not seriously injured.

the other day some guy was dropping his kid off and had half his car driving up a curb and then he stopped to drop the kid off. i was driving straight ahead and assumed he was parked like that then when I was driving right past him he drives off the curb and right in front of me I had to brake real hard or he would have destroyed the whole right side of my car.

sucks I don't have crash insurance either so even if it was his fault I wouldn't get a penny.

glad to hear your <mostly> okay, and the kids are fine.. thats all thats important.. everything else can be healed/fixed/repaired/replaced....
cell phone boy should be made to eat it... ive had several near misses lately, and everyone of them involved a driver playing with their cell phone...

to all;if you drive and use a cell, please buy a headset at the very least, if you dont already have one. i personally pull over unless im on the interstate, and even then im in the granny lane, even with the headset, and the calls are short. they do distract you, and unless conditions are really passive, most times i simply let the thing ring and call em back later...

When I'm in the 924 and I've got the windows down(always) and I've got the sunroof off(always) I hardly answer it unless it's something real important, because I've got to put the windows up and it's still hard to hear them...my car's pretty loud unless you're just cruising along.

Hahah buff out! Did not think I could laugh about the accident! Great one!

Yeah was not upset at all about the car once I saw my kids were ok. That was all that mattered to me. Even if the 924 gave its life to protect my kids I would not regret it. I would be upset... but it protected my kids... thus did one of the most important jobs it could ever do for me.

Man I would never have thought it but I am still hurting today... 4 days later! This kid is going to pay... funny thing... well not so funny... today I was almost rear ended in my rental by a woman in a Honda pilot .... you guessed it... on her cell phone!

I WANT A HUGE HONKING TRUCK!!!

I think that was because technically I was not moving... well until I was catapolted into the SUV in front of me!

glad you and kids are ok. Please don't get a big truck or SUV because of this though. They are not any more safe than cars, and they make the road less safe for everyone else. That maxima did an awesome job of protecting you. Stick with what worked.
